About Beau’s Pet Hotel

Beau’s is a state-of-the-art Pet Hotel providing a safe and loving boarding experience for cats and dogs along with daycare, training and grooming for dogs. Beau’s is conveniently located in the Adelaide Airport precinct.

All profits from Beau’s Pet Hotel are returned to Guide Dogs SA/NT to promote independence, participation, inclusion and wellbeing for people with low vision, blindness or specialised support needs.

About the role

The Operations Supervisor works closely with all members of the Beau’s Pet Hotel team to ensure exceptional standards of care are maintained for every animal in boarding, dog daycare, training and grooming services. The role supports the General Manager to build on the profile of Beau’s as a high quality and trusted service provider, create opportunities for business growth and sustainability, design efficient and effective business processes, manage income and expenditure and lead a skilled and engaged workforce. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise/oversee daily business operations
  • Manage staffing levels and rostering to ensure adequate coverage during peak and off-peak times for effective service delivery across all services
  • Supervise and lead internal team collaboration and communication, including team meeting forums
  • Coach and develop team members and evaluate accomplishment of agreed goals, performance standards and KPIs
  • Lead and model the values of the organisation
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality animal health, care and welfare, ensuring practices comply with relevant legislation, policies, guidelines and state and national standards
  • Ensure the provision of excellent customer service to clients, internal and external stakeholders ensuring client expectations are not only met but exceeded
  • Analyse customer data and feedback and ensure all feedback is proactively actioned in a timely and effective manner
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures and protocols to guide efficient and effective business operations
  • Ensure records, booking systems and databases are accurately maintained to inform operational monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager in the development of budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with budget and KPI’s

About You

You are an experienced leader that enjoys the challenge of leading a diverse and dynamic team. You enjoy analytical problem solving and you have the demonstrated ability to explore and implement new and innovative ways of operating using creative solutions.

You will also have:

  • Strong operational management experience
  • Demonstrated strong systems and process focus
  • A values driven, inclusive and collaborative leadership style
  • Demonstrated high level administrative and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in the use of customer data management systems, corporate document storage and quality systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to develop and foster strong, respectful relationships with a variety of individuals
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and promote change
  • Experience working within an animal related field, would be highly regarded.

Relevant employment clearances will be required upon appointment (costs covered by Guide Dogs SA/NT).
